Fragrance & Materials
The Artifact Candle has a unisex fragrance that is strong yet beautifully balanced. It’s anchored with natural base notes of wood smoke and cedar, with accents of vanilla, cinnamon, and oak.
Yes. We use a soy–coconut wax blend, free of paraffin and synthetic additives.
Concrete is one of the oldest human-made materials. We use it for its strength, its character, its texture, and its timeless quality. At its root it is a mixture of stone, sand, and water, foundational elements of the earth, but it is also a material that embodies the technical achievements of human civilization and human progress.
Craft & Process
Each vessel is hand-poured in small batches in our studio. We use a custom blend of concrete, sand, and pigment, and the molds naturally degrade over time, giving every candle its own character and imperfections.
Each candle is hand-made and hand-poured in our studio in Los Angeles, California.
The design draws on over ten years of experimentation with concrete and wax. The goal was to create a daily object that also feels like a previous ancient artifact. Inspiration also came from a book of hanko stamps discovered in Kyoto, which sparked a deeper exploration of lost symbols and their meanings.

Care & Use
Trim the wick to ¼ inch before lighting. Allow the wax to melt fully across the surface on the first burn to prevent tunneling. Do not burn for more than 3–4 hours at a time. Place on a heat-resistant surface, away from drafts and flammable materials.
Yes. Each vessel can be refilled with our custom insert pillar or repurposed as a sculptural object.

With proper care, each candle burns for approximately 70–80 hours.
Order & Shipping
We ship orders as quickly as possible. Each candle is carefully packed in a small wooden box to prevent damage during transit. You’ll receive tracking info once your order is on the way. Orders typically ship within 3–5 business days. Delivery times vary by destination and will be provided at checkout.

If your candle arrives damaged, please contact us right away. We’ll gladly send you a replacement as soon as possible.
We have a 14-day return policy. Items must be unused, in original packaging, and include proof of purchase. Email hello@artifactcandle.com to start a return. Refunds are issued within 10 business days after approval. Sale items, gift cards, and shipping costs are non-refundable.
